Green haze

The weekend is here:-)Time for Trifextra, week 48-my first submission under this category.

http://www.trifectawritingchallenge.com/

This weekend’s Trifextra Challenge is community-judged.

“I feel I’m able to get rid of any demons lurking in my psyche through my writing, which leaves me free to create all of this and to enjoy our family life, stepping away from all the fictional traumas and the dramas. If I write about family in crisis, then I won’t have to live through it, I guess.”

                    – Jodi Picoult

This weekend we’re asking for 33 of your own words that exorcise a demon.  One of your own, or one from your imagination.  Let it bleed on the page.

Easier said than done, huh?I have too many demons to exorcise-so refraining from opening the Pandora’s box, lest all my inner demons have a field day,I have taken refuge in the realm of imagination.

The party was in full swing.

She clenched the vial in her hand, seething.

Then she saw them.

“So in love!”

The haze lifted.

She smiled.

Later-

a shattered vial …

Victory.

 ————————————————————————————————————————————–

He looked into her eyes- limpid brown pools. She smiled back,a little shy.He took her soft hands into his, holding them gently. He could hear his racing heart, resonating in his ears.He drew her close-she blushed. As he bent his head, she tilted her face up.His lips brushed her rose bud lips softly &  he felt her melt into his arms.Time stood still…the wonder of first kiss…first love…etched in their hearts forever…

Daily Prompt- “Flawed”

I am as flawed as I allow myself to be, I love myself as I am,can’t you all see?

No need to be perfect,am happy as can be,Conforming to set standards is not my cup of tea!

Never needed approval or a Nanny Mcphee  , To tell me whom to choose between  the Devil & deep sea 😉

God has his plans & so He guides me  , If I start to change,I will no longer “be” !

Flawed or Perfect, being happy is the key ,  Take it or leave it, for I am happy being”Me”:-)

Thus she mused…

I just started “blogging” here yesterday,so am a newbie & do not know if I qualify to participate in this week’s writing challenge,”Shift your perspective.” Still,no harm in trying,is there?I think I usually use first or second person,so have tried to use  a third person narrative style.

She was humming to herself as she logged in.She started smiling thinking of how she was going to turn her life around. No more wasting time, playing inane computer games, chatting with strangers, sharing other people’s quotes & living vicariously. She was going to carve out a niche for herself in this world of bloggers-if they could do it,why not her?

There-she was on her newly created blog pg-her very own space on wordpress. Now to start pouring her thoughts onto the screen & viola, she will be on her way up the ladder of Blogging! But,oh,what’s this? Her mind refused to utter even one word, leave alone the torrent of words she had envisaged herself spewing!Worse, she felt petrified!Oh God!What has she got herself into? What was she thinking? For Heaven’s sake she was not even a good writer!God forbid if her friends & acquaintances ever found this out-oh,the shame! She would die of mortification!Thank God,though for small mercies, for, had she given in to her impulse last night & mailed the link of her new Blog to her group ,she would have been in real hot water now!!

Ah!Colour returned to her ashen face & she thawed ,sighing with relief.

But,hey wait, she told herself, gaining her composure! She was not a scareddy cat,was she?She was no nincompoop either-she could wield  the pen-well,the mouse,as well as any other of her caliber!Anyways, she was not here to impress anyone,or to ride the popularity charts or to gain fame-not that all these things were not welcome,he!he!-but the main purpose behind her wanting to blog was to give a voice to her musings-to go on a journey of self exploration & to delve into the psyche of human beings….

….and she found her fingers flying on the keyboard, typing out words of her maiden Blog post on wordpress…

Moving on

Easier said than done-isn’t it?You have gone over  every word uttered, every act, every emotion ,with a fine tooth comb-re-lived the heart break a thousand times-re-played all the  scenes like a bad movie-but still something remains…

A stray thought comes trundling on the heels of a special song & what you thought you had forgotten comes rushing back!Pent up emotions well up & you suddenly find yourself breaking down!

In the heart of your hearts you know that he/she doesn’t care-probably doesn’t even think of you,but ,”hope”,that fragile bird, refuses to take flight. It sits ,huddled,in some corner of your soul, with head tucked under its broken wings, nursing its wounds, only to get those wounds open to a fresh attack,at the most inopportune hour!

Teaching your broken heart to be like the Phoenix & rise again,is a Herculean task for sure but not impossible. It takes time, patience, persistence & faith in yourself to accomplish it.Let your mantra be ,”I will deal  with the pain eventually & heal Myself.”Better still,”I will learn to love again,to trust again,to let go & move on.”

Soon, you will find yourself living & loving again-the past just a memory & will be able to look at it without rancour. As they say, forget the pain, but not the lesson,’cos that’s what is going to make you a stronger & better person.Face the shadows of your life ,shed the bitterness & go traipsing through life’s beautiful adventures 🙂

What is a Promise?

Promises have been a part of every love story from times immemorial. My question is,do we put too much weight on the word & ignore the act or circumstance surrounding the oath?To  a young lover,a promise may mean everything in the heat of that moment or  passion but years later,he/she may not even remember it.Trouble occurs when the other partner remembers  each & every word,’cos for them it meant the world-forever!So,what does a promise entail? Is it just empty words, uttered by liars & cheats to swindle innocent hearts? As someone said,One promises much, to avoid giving little.

To me,a promise is like holding sand in your fist-the moment  you let go,even a little,it starts trickling away,so,to be able to keep my word,I must  take care, never to let go of my commitment-to that relationship,to that action,to that emotion,to that person. Before, giving my promise,I must weigh the pros & cons & not rush into it blindly, without understanding what it means-both to me & to the  one I give my promise to.

So,its better to say a firm “no” than  say “yes” which can easily become a broken promise.I never take a promise  made to me seriously for I know how easily it can be broken, but  I never make one lightly.

Talk is cheap, but promises are expensive. Only use them on occasions.     -Jvongard

Hello world!

Am not really a  writer but love to talk. Then why do I want to venture into this  challenging world of the written word,u might ask?Well,I have been recently introduced to the writings of a very learned person on a social networking site, and this has really inspired me to take the first step towards this daunting yet fascinating  journey of self expression.

I hope to be able to put down some of my thoughts & outpourings on this blog,on  a regular basis.Whether it will  act as a  catharsis or be therapeutic or prove to become my alter ego,I have no idea at this point of time, but,I look forward to”going with the flow”.

So,I begin my odyssey into the  known ,yet unknown..fearful,yet excited….
