Trifextra: Week Forty-Nine

On to the weekend challenge.  As you’ll recall from your elementary science class days, the structure of the earth can be divided most simply into three sections: core, mantle, crust.Give us 33 words from it.  Interpret the prompt however you wish–literal, metaphorical, or somewhere in between.

Quickly, she threw off her mantle .

Breathing hard, she touched the sticky wetness.

Ah..  heat rising from the core .

She had to-NOW.

she  bit  into the  crust of her juicy Plum pie.

  1. Never fear, there are more than just a few here at Trifecta who can touch the sticky wetness and turn it into art. 🙂 Thanks for a humourous yet, steamy, take on the prompt.

  2. Oh thank goodness it was pie – I wasn’t sure how I could comment on what my mind thought it was! I enjoyed this very much, but have a hankering for pie now. You tricky writer, you 🙂

  3. Ha! You know, I almost wrote a piece very much like this, only it wasn’t plum pie I was alluding to. (It didn’t work the way I wanted to, and eventually morphed into something less steamy, but hopefully just as intense.) You totally caught me by surprise!
