Trifextra: Week Fifty-Two
It’s Friday,so time to do something “extra” at Trifecta. This weekend, they have decided to throw us a googly & send many of us back to school ,for a refresher course in English language:-)
Yes,they want us to give them a 33-word example of personification. Wait. What? You forget what that is? It’s the practice of attaching human traits and characteristics with inanimate objects, phenomena and animals (http://literary-devices.com).
Well, here comes my submission-ignore the blush please;-)

A Moonlight Tryst
Velvet night kissed me as I stepped into the garden. Gentle breeze embraced me. Flowers smiled knowingly. Stars winked .Trees beckoned. Leaves whispered.
Then, the Moon beamed, announcing the arrival of my lover.
——–X———-
Softy softy! Not an illicit lover I hope!
LOL!love is never illicit i guess but who knows what’s in their hearts?;-)Thank you for reading & commenting yerpirate:-)
What a great opening! I love descriptions like this, the moonlight gives everything a dreamlike appearance! And the lover, supported by nature itself, like the frightening appearance of the soul mate makes it all more thrilling!
Oh,Sugarhigdd, thank you for this beautiful comment-you made it sound so much more romantic & lovely than I did:-)Was just going off to bed-here its 4.30 a.m-almost dawn, lol!
Loved the use of personification! The entire night became her lover. Sweet 😀
Thank you Dawn, loved how you interpreted it:-)GN from me -its almost dawn here-no pun intended, lol!
I thought that the velvet night was quite lucky to be kissing you and then, I discover that this was only the warm-up because your lover was now arriving. Lovely, romantic, sensual poem. Thanks for sharing.
Aww,thank you so much.Glad you liked it Tom:-)I was not sure -thought it may seem too mushy-am still finding my feet, lol!
whew! my night just became a bit more toasty . . . which is hard to do as icicles nip my fingers tonight. 🙂 nicely done.
Ha!ha!Glad to have been able to add a lil warmth to your cold night there:-)Here,the wind still hasn’t lost its nip,for which am glad-Indian summers are hot & nothing to look forward to except maybe the mangoes.Thank you for liking this
You’ve got lots of personification here, and it all comes together for a lovely scene. Beautiful!
Thank you Janna:-)

Lovely set up for the twist at the end. Very nice!
;-)Thank you Steph
Well done! I like how each element was personified and how it all came together into a beautiful ending.
Oh,that’s such a beautiful thing to say Wisper, thank you so much:-)I appreciate your stopping by to read & comment:-)
Love the moon beaming!
:-)Thank you-yes,it was glad to see the two lovers;-)
Awww. That’s sweet! What’s funny is that you used the word “refresher” in your intro. I wrote the post when I was dog tired, and I could not, for the life of me, come up with the word I wanted. I kept thinking “rehash,” “revisit,” . . . REFRESHER. Thank you!
Thank you, your response made me grin:-)Its 2 a.m here & I know that feeling(mind you,I am not even working at a job & still I get tired,lol!)-in fact all this is erasing my memory-this being up till dawn-now,i will have to go check what i wrote in the intro,ha!ha!Oh,I definitely know about not getting that “word”-I am like hey it starts with “r” -& go traipsing along all the shops show-casing these string of words & just not find what I want & then in the middle of something it will return to me with a bang!My hubby & daughter tease me no end about this lapses but what can I do?Glad you found the word in my post though & apologies for rambling on:-)
Awwww! Such romance!

The moon beamed… Perfect!
Thank you Ted:-)
Oh so romantic!! I wish I was there! lol well… not with this particular couple… but there with my own lover! haha
