Trifextra: Week Ninety-One
This weekend Trifecta has the following on the menu for Trifextra challenge-
It’s now time for some Trifextra fun. Thirty years ago, Roald Dahl published the book Dirty Beasts, a collection of poems for children about weird and wonderful animals. The last poem, however, is called The Tummy Beast about a boy who thinks there’s someone living in his belly. Your Trifextra challenge is to write 33 words on a beast in an unusual place. No swamps or forests or caves, we really want you to take your beast out of its comfort zone. http://www.trifectawritingchallenge.com/#sthash.eAWaxdhd.dpuf
This was indeed very tough and I almost gave up before deciding to just go with the flow.Hope it is not too bad 😛
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————–
The Verbal beast
Hiding between the vocal chords
it creeps up on the tongue
caustic words of derision
cutting down everyone
cares not for enemies made
nor the friends lost-
Sarcasm, the beast
spares no one!

I’m glad you went with it. I think this is brilliant!

Sometimes it gets better by waiting .– this one is very good.
Thank you Bjorn-coming from you I will take it high praise:-)
Very well written, Atreyee – as my mom says – watch for words that fall out hurting others and make you regret later. I bet this is one beast, we are better off choking down our throats.
So true-having a sharp tongue myself,I know I better do some watching & choking ;-)Thanks TZ:-)

being a profuse user of sarcasm, this rings quite true in that many simply do not understand sarcasm to be sarcasm!
I so agree and I have resorted to once too often 😛 Thank you for reading and commenting:-)

Oh this was so good! Isn’t that the truth about sarcasm. And it comes sailing out sometimes and we aren’t even aware that it’s going too. What a monster it is. What an original take, Atreyee!! Well done! 😀
