Carpe Diem Special #73, Alexey Andreyev’s fourth, “day after Valentine’s”
At CD,our host Kristjaan has chosen a haiku written by Alexey Andreyev,a Russian haiku-poet.Alexey is the featured haiku-poet for this month. This fourth haiku is about Valentine’s day or more the day after. The challenge is to write an all new haiku in the same sense, tone and Spirit as the one given.
day after Valentine’s –
red petals on the floor, and
a broom in the corner
(c) Alexey Andreyev
Here come my completions:-)
a familiar scent fading
old love letters on the floor
fashionable sunglasses
hiding damp eyes,broken heart

I love your second completion!
Thank you Wabi-will come by to read yours tonight:-)
Oh wow so beautiful and touching ! I loved it gorgeous 🙂
Thank you Lala-so kind of you-will try and catch up with reading your posts tonight:-)
Atreyee these completions are both gorgeous, but it was the goal to write a new haiku, but … well freedom of thought heh … 🙂
Eeps!I am mortified! What the heck was I thinking of?And to think that I got so exhausted trying to keep the syllable count to 7-7 that I went to bed after posting it-I guess I love Tan Rengas too much, lol!Thank you Kristjaan for pointing it out and so sorry for the unintended faux pas 😛
Fortunately, there is still time-so I will just pen a new haiku(s) ,if you could kindly remove my old post(link) from your pg-I would be very obliged. Will add the new link as soon as I complete writing:-)Thank you so much once again:-)
I think you’re more of the Tan Renga, but I am looking forward to your haiku.
So true Kristjaan-I definitely love Tan Renga 😛
It’s a wonderful kind of poetry … I especially like the collaborative sphere of it …
I agree:-)
It makes us a haiku-family 🙂
And I love that and miss it when am not able to participate!
Take your time Atreyee … no obligations … as you know
Yes Kristjaan I do but it rankles when your heart wants to but real life takes precedence-but I will be back 😀
I know that … sometimes real life needs you more …
True but tomorrow it will be CD time-that’s a promise-already I am smiling as I bid you GN from India:-)
Love the second one especially. Bit sad though 😦
Thank you DR:-)Yes,it is sad as we had to follow the essence of the haiku given
