Bang on!
He watched them tear his old work shed down, brick by brick.
Then the bulldozers razed the rest to the ground.
No one paid him any attention.
The big construction company made short work of the project and the Mall came up within two months.
Tomorrow the big names in the town along with the financiers would be present at the gala inauguration.
Poor sods! Little did they know what awaited them.
He would see to it that the event made headlines on every news channel.
He double checked the wires and tried it on. A perfect fit!
———————————–X———————————-
I guess he is going out with a bang then. Nicely done.

Atreyee you wouldn’t, what a horrible thought, vengeance is a powerful weapon in peoples hands. You have written an excellent story and my reaction came as the shock of what your character was planning.
Ha!ha!Am so pleased with your comment buddy-you just made my day! Thanks a ton and yes I agree Revenge is terrible-it never can be good-for either the hurt or the harmed 🙂
Revenge oh my. But the stuff that fuels the real horrors in this world.
Sigh!Sadly so my friend specially in this day and age!Thank you so much for coming by to read and for the comment:-)
Powerful stuff!
Thank you dear Sandra:-)
sinister tale of vengeance. going out with a bang indeed! 🙂 great take.
Thank you Kz-so glad you liked it:-)
This story gives a whole different meaning to that old saying. It’s especially chilling because of recent events in the news. Good writing!
Thank you much for the lovely comment Patricia:-)
I think they’re going to be some fireworks soon. Nicely written and good title.
😀 Thank you
He’s suiting up early–perhaps he’ll accidentally trip a wire and save the lives of others. We can only hope. Scary story, and too believable in these times..
Ha!ha!I hope so too-such ppl are better off dead 😛 Thanks for the read and the comment:-)
Counseling! Counseling would have been better. Cool story though.
Ha!ha!Yes Perry but who would have thought that of him-he looked so elderly and innocent you know;-)Thanks for coming by 🙂
Dear Atreyee,
You hit the top of the eerie and powerful chart this week.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Not quite politically correct but sentimentally I’m on his side. Maybe the wires are for electronically projected custard pies.
You’ve done such a good job creating your protagonist that I initially found this rather uplifting, until the meaning sank in. Well done.
Great story – devious though! Good job! Nan
Yes, poor sods! What a terrible end for them as well as the suicide bomber..
I know-thank you sweetie for coming by to read and comment:-)
Awesome! 🙂
“…and his legacy for the world was a charred, hand-painted piece of plywood that read ‘No Smoking In Wokshop'”
BA,thank you for the appreciation though am a lil confused by the “quote” at the end-is it your observation cos it is definitely not from my story-waiting for your reply:-)
Sorry for any confusion…just embellishing. Your story compelled me to write those words as an alternate ending but obviously would’ve put you in excess of 100 words 🙂
Ah,no I just thought of asking and not assuming-that was a cool ending though ,by you ,thks:-)
Scary!
Thank you Bryan 🙂
Nothing like revenge. What a great, eerie story! Nice one!
Thank you BB:-)
Really gave me the willies! The idea that there are folks waiting and watching like this… so unnerving! Well done!
Hee!hee! How wicked we writers are at times,no?But I guess real life is where we draw most of our ideas from-so that is more frightening:-)Thank you dear Dawn for coming buy to read and for the wonderful comment 🙂
when you write wonderful stories… it’s easy to write wonderful comments! 😉
Ha!ha!Sometimes though when I read some great writing,I lose my ability to say anything 😛
Wow, so cool to be able to see into the mind of a maniac like that and portray him here. Well done.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment Dawn, highly appreciated 🙂
