At Carpe Diem,our host Kristjaan has set us a tough challenge for this episode of “revise the Haiku”.This is what he has to say-

 

“In this episode of ‘revise that haiku’ I love to challenge you to revise Basho’s famous ‘old pond’ haiku.”

furu ike ya / kawazu tobi komu / mizu no oto

old pond
a frog jumps into
the sound of water

Here are my feeble attempts at revising this Haiku .

 

shattering
the sound of silence
a frog jumps

By the pond
all silent-till a
frog plops in

Hermitage-
a frog in the pond
spring knocking

Roses bloom,
pond silent,startled
by frog’s leap
