Trifextra: Week Eighty-Five
This weekend ,for Trifextra,Trifecta wants us to give our best example of an apostrophe,in exactly 33 words.
About.com defines apostrophe as, “A figure of speech in which some absent or nonexistent person or thing is addressed as if present and capable of understanding.”
Here is my entry🙂
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
The Jester
Vanish!Vamoose!Recede into oblivion!
I scream at you!
But do you ever listen?
High hopes!
Teaming up with memories
You dance in my dreams
O cruel Past, how you love to jest!
——————————–X———————————–
Past does taunt us, haunt us even..all those glorious hopes..dreams …we were so sure
True:-)Thks for stopping by to read and comment Sini
I like this! The past has a way of messing with us- making us remember what we’d rather forget or long for what we’ll never have.
You hit the nail on the head Janna!I agree:-)Thk u my friend for coming by to read
yes, cruel past likes to return at just the wrong time, eh? I can relate.
nice writing!
best,
MOV
So true:-) Thk u MOV
The past catching up with us is now jest! Well done.
Thank you Sarah and wish it would stop jesting and let us be 😛
The past is an uggly bitch to beat.
True:-)Thk u for stopping by Bjorn
Ha! Good luck with that one. Those who don’t remember the past…
Dance in my dreams – love it.

Memory is unreliable at any age – depends on that baggage we carry around. As you so aptly state. I love the language. And that graphic is awesome!
Aww thank you Steph and I could not agree with you more on memory being elusive and “momentary”!Am sorry for my late response-was down with migraine-came on yesterday but was too tired to do much-so catching up now and will then post my piece:-)
Nicely put. That jester is hard to stuff back in his box once he’s loose, isn’t he…
Thanks Renee-yes he is;-)
The past just loves to laugh at us. I think it thinks we’re the fools!
Thank you for linking up!
Ha!HAa!So true but sometimes we manage to pull the wool over it’s eyes too:D Thanks for stopping by to comment and read:-)
The past too often messes things up in the here and now. Why can’t we just look forward?
So right-its an ongoing struggle to let the past remain where it belongs-sigh!Thank you so much for stopping by to comment and read Deb 🙂 My apologies for the late response-was not well .
Remembering the past is painful, but forgetting the past can be worse. Lessons learned don’t need to be repeated, right?
This is beautifully worded and so very relatable. Wonderful work!
Absolutely Ivy:-)So glad you came by and apologies Hun for this late response-migraine attack debilitated me 😦
‘Teaming up with memories’, that is wonderful. This is a great piece.
Thank you so much Donetta-apologies for the late response-was unwell.
Cruel past teaming up with memories and jesting at us… such a forceful thought expressed so well. Excellent work Atreyee.
Aww,thank you so much September:-)My apologies was down with migraine, thus this late response!
The past, without it we wouldn’t be who we are, but sometimes we don’t want to remember.
